I am a freelance wrestling journalist/activist and founder of non-profit Wrestling Podium Radio based in Edmonton Canada. I started a Radio Show about wrestling while volunteering for CJSR-FM, a Canadian campus-based community radio station in Edmonton in 2015. Later in 2017 I became an independent content creator by launching Voice of Podium Podcast at Wrestling Podium Radio.
Journalism and Gender Equity
I have been attending one Olympic Games (2016), seven World Wrestling Championships and three World Cup as a journalist to advocate the objection of our organization: “Attendance of female members in international wrestling tournaments and relying on their skills in analyzing the sport of wrestling will help to expand the equal presence of men and women journalists to cover wrestling news.”
Wrestling Referee and Gender Equity
I am the first Iranian woman who became a National Wrestling Referee in Canada. I have been active as a wrestling official for Alberta Amateur Wrestling Association since 2013 and for Canadian Association of Wrestling Officials since 2016.
